Councilmember Agran is excited to share the latest feature of his City Council website. You can now find out how Councilmember Agran voted at recent City Council and Great Park Board meetings in a new, digestible format. 


On January 23, Councilmember Agran and Commissioner Sun commended and congratulated the Northwood High School Timberwolves Varsity Football team. The team recently won the Dennis Toohey Fence Post Trophy, the Pacific Coast League title, the CIF-SS Division 8 title, and the CIF Division 4AA Southern Regional Championships during their incredible 2022 season.


The Year of the Tiger has officially leaped out as the Rabbit year hopped its way in. This weekend, the Office of Councilmember Agran joined the community to celebrate the Lunar New Year at the Irvine Spectrum. There, the South Coast Chinese Cultural Center hosted a variety of spectacular cultural programs, including lion dances, wushu demonstrations, traditional drumming, and folk dances. The Office of Councilmember Agran wishes you tremendous joy, peace, and happiness this Lunar New Year.


On Friday, January 27, Councilmember Agran met with the CalPIRG Students from the University of California, Irvine. Together, they discussed the importance of local environmental policies and sustainability initiatives and the impact they can have on our community. Each student came prepared with valuable insights and presented analyses of existing policies from nearby cities as part of a productive conversation on potential implementation of similar policies in the City of Irvine.


The City of Irvine is currently accepting applications from Irvine community members who want to serve on the Green Ribbon Environmental Committee. This advisory committee meets monthly at 4:30 p.m. and plays an ongoing role in helping the City move forward on environmental policies and initiatives. Four positions are open for all Irvine residents!

  • 2 At-Large members who will serve a two-year term.

  • 2 High School or Middle School students who will serve a one-year term.

The application deadline is Tuesday, February 28th. Councilmember Agran encourages those interested in serving to apply for this advisory committee.


Councilmember Agran joined the Irvine community this morning to celebrate the Chinese New Year at the Lakeview Senior Center. Everyone had a wonderful time celebrating all that Irvine's rich, diverse culture offers. Councilmember Agran extends his gratitude to the Evergreen Chinese Senior Association for hosting the event. He also thanks the Pacific Academy, Irvine Senior Services staff, and all who helped make this event successful.
