Though today marks the first day of summer, summer fun has been alive in Irvine for weeks!

Since mid-May, the Irvine Summer Art Market has been underway, offering residents access to local artists and live art demos. These events run monthly, with the next one scheduled for Sunday, July 18 between 10 am and 3 pm. For details and future events, click here.

If an evening in the park is more your style, Irvine has two popular events running through the summer that you don’t want to miss: Movies on the Lawn and Sizzlin’ Summer Concerts.

Starting June 26, “Movies on the Lawn” hosts a family-friendly movie on the terraced lawn of the Great Park every two weeks. Starting July 17, “Sizzlin’ Summer Concerts” hosts a weekly concert in Mike Ward Community Park. Admission for both events is free.* For a full list of dates and movie or concert titles, visit the City of Irvine’s “Special Event” listing.

*UPDATE 06/30/2021: A previous version of this post stated that advanced registration is required for Movies on the Lawn and Sizzlin’ Summer Concerts. That is no longer the case.
