Honoring Veterans in Irvine

I was honored to have participated in multiple events recently to show my gratitude to the veterans in our community.

City of Irvine’s Senior Services Veterans Day Door-to-Door Flag Recognition.

Veterans Day Ceremony and Resource Fair at Irvine Valley College.

The State of Veteran Homelessness in Orange County Hosted by OC United Way.

City of Irvine's Veterans Day Ceremony at Colonel Bill Barber Marine Corps Memorial Park.

I express deep gratitude and respect to all the brave veterans and their families.

Love Irvine's Third Annual Serve Day

On November 4, in partnership with Love Irvine, the community met for the Third Annual Irvine Serve Day. The event had over 400 volunteers and a variety of projects. I joined the Great Park's Farm + Food Lab volunteers for some gardening work! Thank you, Love Irvine, for hosting this fantastic community event. Your organization makes a difference in our City, and I’m excited to continue to grow this wonderful community tradition.

Gas-Powered Garden Equipment Ban

California is making a big change in landscaping and gardening practices starting January 1, 2024. A state law will ban the sale of new gardening equipment with small gas engines. The City Council is also considering a local ban on gas-powered leaf blowers effective July 2024. This ban aims to reduce harmful emissions. I invite you to share your thoughts on this proposed local ban.
