Mass vaccination site opens in Great Park

UPDATE (05/05/2021): The Great Park vaccination site is currently operating from 8 AM to 11:30 AM and is accepting walk-ins in addition to pre-scheduled appointments. The site operates according to vaccine supplies and community uptake, so visitors are advised to visit the City of Irvine’s website for the most current hours of operations.

On Monday, the City of Irvine opened a mass vaccination site at the Great Park.

“I am so pleased that our vision for a high-volume, Irvine-based vaccination site has finally been realized,” said Councilmember Larry Agran. “This will be a tremendous resource for Irvine and — in light of the toll Covid has taken on our neighbouring cities — the entire South County.”

The appointment-only, drive-through site is open Monday through Friday. To make an appointment, visit: www.myturn.ca.gov or call 833-422-4255.

This site and a second smaller vaccination site in Santa Ana is made possible through the dedicated partnership of Providence Health System, Edwards Lifesciences, and the Cities of Santa Ana, Costa Mesa and Tustin.

“Having toured the site myself and spoken directly with people who have been vaccinated there, I can confirm it is operating very smoothly and staffed by exceptionally competent and caring individuals,” said Councilmember Agran. “City Staff and the Irvine Police Department did an excellent job designing this mass vaccination site and they are delivering on those plans.”

The site has the capacity to administer 2,000 shots a day. If you have yet to be vaccinated, make an appointment today at www.myturn.ca.gov.
