Cox Communications and The Office of Councilmember Agran Present a Free Tech Master Class

This FREE Tech Master Class will provide older adults with an opportunity to advance their technology skill sets in a welcoming environment.

Cox Communications is excited to present a FREE Tech Master Class hosted by the Office of Councilmember Larry Agran. 

We invite you to attend the Tech Master Class on Thursday, July 6, 2023, at the Lakeview Senior Center in Irvine, CA, for a day of hands-on learning and skill-building in a friendly and supportive environment. 

Master everyday technology and IT basics at either of these two sessions, designed for our senior community. Session 1 will take place from 10:00 AM to 11:15 AM, and Session 2 will occur from 11:30 AM to 12:45 PM.

Agenda

HUB 1

Data-focus: Attendees will learn how data gets delivered to their home, the difference between their modem and WiFi, the preferred placement of their modem to optimize service, and how to complete internet speed tests. As time allows, a FaceTime learning session may be integrated.

HUB 2

Video-focus: Attendees will learn how to navigate their television and technology devices connected to their TV as well as how to reboot their cable box. They will also learn about HDMI settings and how to navigate remotes.

HUB 3

WiFi-focus: Attendees will learn how to connect their device to WiFi, especially when outside the home, as well as learn about secure networks and how to find Cox hotspots.
