Councilmember Agran Reveals Veterans Memorial Park Concept

On October 26th, 2021 the Irvine City Council voted (4-1) to adopt a resolution supporting the placement of the Veterans Cemetery in Anaheim HIlls at the Gypsum Canyon site. Councilmember Agran was the only member of the City Council to vote against it.

"I will be voting against the resolution. I feel bound by law to vote against the resolution. I propose we disentangle the two (cemetery & park) and move ahead on just the memorial park — a 25-50 acre perimeter park bordering the ARDA site. We should honor the will of the voters by building the memorial park."
