A Message from Larry | Join the Fight Against Hunger
We Need YOU!
Hello, there! This is City of Irvine Councilmember Larry Agran, writing to invite you to join me and Second Harvest Food Bank for a volunteer event on Thursday, July 27, 2023, from 7:30 AM to 11:00 AM, at Harvest Solutions Farm, right here in Irvine! Together, we will help harvest seasonal produce or plant crops so that our neighbors have consistent access to nutritious food creating a foundation for community health and well-being.
Since the launch in August 2021, Harvest Solutions Farm has produced nearly 3 million pounds of fresh, nutritious produce that has been distributed to those experiencing food and nutrition insecurity in our community. With the cost of food remaining high and CalFresh emergency allotments recently ending, community partners across Orange County are seeing increased demand from our neighbors in need of food, making the work of harvesting, weeding, and maintaining the fields more important than ever.
This event is a fantastic opportunity to give back to the community and connect with fellow volunteers. The event promises for a day of meaningful work and camaraderie. Located at 12751 Lambert Road, Irvine, CA 92618, the Harvest Solutions Farm offers a picturesque setting where YOU can make a difference.
Remember to wear comfortable clothing and bring your enthusiasm! We'll provide all the necessary tools and equipment. Together, let's positively impact our community and support local agriculture. Don't miss out on this exciting opportunity to contribute to the Harvest Solutions Farm as #WeFeedOC!
