700 Acres of Opportunity

Last week, Councilmember Agran was joined by a group of north Irvine residents and dedicated members of the City of Irvine team. Together, they embarked on an unforgettable journey through the Gateway Preserve, guided by the Irvine Ranch Conservancy. The experience was truly transformative, and everyone involved is excited about the possibilities that lie ahead. Thanks to the tireless efforts of civic-minded individuals and citizen activists, we are making significant strides in expanding our preserved open space in the north Irvine community. This is a monumental achievement that will benefit generations to come.

Juneteenth at the Great Park

Councilmember Agran was honored to participate in a meaningful event last week. The Juneteenth Freedom Celebration at the Great Park was a beautiful display of unity and solidarity within the community as people of all ages and backgrounds came together to honor the important day in history. Councilmember Agran was proud to see so many individuals and organizations come together to make this event a success and looks forward to continuing to support and celebrate Juneteenth in the years to come.

Skyloft Apartment - Mercury Falling Sculpture

Public artwork has the power to shape and unite our diverse community. Yesterday, Councilmember Agran attended the celebration to commemorate the Mercury Falling sculpture installation at Sanderson J. Ray Development's Skyloft Apartment Community in Irvine. The towering stainless steel sculpture, created by artist Jorg R. Dubin, serves as a beacon of hope for a world where humans take action against global warming and bring the earth's temperature down - hence the name, Mercury Falling. After years of planning and execution, the sculpture and the Apartment Community will stand as a testament to the importance of affordable housing, work-play living, and public art. As we look to the future, we eagerly anticipate the transformation of the Irvine Business Complex (IBC) into a vibrant work, live, play village.
