This past weekend, I attended a community workshop on the South Yale Corridor Improvements Project to evaluate how Yale Avenue between the 405 FWY and University Drive can better serve our community, including broadened opportunities for bicycling. It was rewarding to see residents, students, and staff collaborating.

I had the opportunity to meet with a few veterans last week at City Hall. I was very pleased to hear their wonderful ideas regarding the Veterans Memorial Park.
What an honor to have joined the Girl Scouts of Orange County at the 7th annual STEM Expo. It is very empowering to see so many young women involved in STEM. I was delighted to engage in their projects. Most especially, thank you to the STEM Patrol and all those who helped put this incredible event together.

My team helped kick off Concordia University Irvine Hispanic Leadership Conference this past Saturday. First-generation role models inspired attendees to navigate the road to college. My team was pleased to learn about keynote speaker Henry Alonzo who is making a significant mark in the music industry. Of course, my team could not miss out on the campus tour.
The City of Irvine has recently joined the Orange County Housing Finance Trust, a Joint Powers Authority (JPA) composed of the County of Orange and 25 of the 34 cities in the county. The mission of the Orange County Housing Finance Trust is to strengthen Orange County communities by financing affordable housing development for homeless and low-income individuals and families.
Irvine's new membership in the Orange County Housing Finance Trust means additional funding resources may be available to the Irvine community through the Orange County Housing Finance Trust. These funding resources may be instrumental in helping the City of Irvine increase its affordable housing opportunities and complement the existing work of the Irvine Community Land Trust and our other community partners.
Home of the people — our current City Hall was first occupied in 1989. Irvine's first City Hall was located across the street from the UCI campus above a bar before moving to a building at the corner of McGaw Ave. and Jamboree.
Today at Irvine's City Hall, you can find nine main departments. Together, these departments manage and perform all business of City Hall and its services: City Manager Office, City Clerk, Community Development, Community Services, Financial Management, Strategic Planning, Human Resources and Innovations, Irvine Police Department and Public Works and Transportation.
A plaque on the floor of the City Hall lobby between the elevators marks a time capsule that is set to be opened on April 23, 2089.
Art at City Hall is an ongoing series of art exhibitions bringing artwork from local exhibiting artists to Irvine City Hall. Exhibitions focus on art with an Irvine perspective, featuring artists of all age groups, with new exhibitions opening seasonally.
