Establishment of the Gateway Preserve

On August 13, 2024, the City of Irvine officially closed escrow on the acquisition of the All American Asphalt plant, a monumental effort that unfolded over the course of the last couple of years. The land acquired by the City of Irvine will be developed into hundreds of acres of accessible open space in North Irvine. Vice Mayor Agran is proud to have led the effort to resolve this public health crisis and coordinate the closure of the All American Asphalt plant.


Art at City Hall: Tales from the Trails

“You can't go out in nature, and not come back a better person.” 

Luke Matjas embarks on annual 2,500-mile hikes. Through his art, he explores the meeting point of urban and natural landscapes with captivating designs and colors. View this large-scale installation, which concludes on Friday, November 22, at City Hall between the hours of 7:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. Monday–Thursday and 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Friday.


Monthly Construction Projects Report

The City is buzzing with cool projects! There's much to look forward to, from the new Sweet Shade Universal Playground to the Jeffrey Open Space Trail/I-5 Bicycle and Pedestrian Bridge, a key link between trails that extend from the Pacific Ocean all the way up to the Santa Ana Mountains and Cleveland National Forest. Our Public Works and Sustainability Department are the true 'bridge' builders, creating connections and paving the way for new adventures!


Angels Clinic in the Park

Vice Mayor Agran was delighted to have participated in the Angels Clinic in the Park presented by Cox Communications at the Great Park Baseball Stadium. Over 600 kids received professional instruction on the basics of baseball and softball as part of the free clinic event. Vice Mayor Agran thanks Cox Communications and the Los Angeles Angels for their commitment to our community and the next generation!
