Conversations with Larry, Episode 3: All American Asphalt Plant Enforcement & Great Park Botanical Garden (Podcast)
In this week’s podcast, Councilmember Larry Agran talks about the All American Asphalt Plant and how residents are fed up with the state Air Quality Management District, the agency responsible for air quality. Hear Larry explain how he proposed a hotline to make it easier and more effective for residents reporting air quality problems. ”One number that people can call in all matters of truck routes, truck traffic, code enforcement, and odor complaints as well,” so that complaints go to the City of Irvine initially; this enables the City to transmit the complaints to the Air Quality Management District as an advocate for beleaguered Irvine residents.
Councilmember Agran also discusses the progress made at the Great Park board meeting in establishing a botanical garden at the Great Park. “This is something I have advocated for many, many years. The original Master Plan for the Great Park included a wonderful Botanical Garden… that idea which had been forgotten for a number of years was revived and enthusiastically embraced by the entire Great Park Board.”
