In 1973, I came to Irvine to see a master-planned vision come to life, and today, I was excited to celebrate 50 years of growth and progress as Irvine commemorated its incorporation.

I have always known Irvine was destined for greatness. Today, I spoke with some of the residents and staff members that, through their combined decades of public service, have made our city a premier place to live. As a City, we are forever in debt to those who selflessly volunteer their time and energy for the quality of life of their neighbors. 

Our continual growth and steady progress over a half-century shows that, in Irvine, we defy expectations and draw strength from our collective commitment to building a diverse One Irvine. May the next 50 years bring another generation of public servants dedicated to furthering our masterful planning and connecting our community.
